Glavni zadatak Uprave za finansijski nadzor Ujedinjenog Kraljevstva (u daljem tekstu: FCA) jeste da se stara da potrošači koriste finansijske usluge i proizvode od društava i pojedinaca kojima mogu da veruju, odnosno da se prema potrošačima postupa pošteno.

FCA je nezavisno nevladino telo kome su poverena zakonska ovlašćenja shodno Zakonu o finansijskim uslugama i tržištima iz 2000. godine (izmenjen i dopunjen 2012. godine).

FCA je organizacija koja posluje na otvoren i transparentan način, koja kompanijama, potrošačima i drugim stranama pruža potpune informacije o svojim ciljevima, planovima, politikama i pravilima. FCA odgovara ministrima finansija, a preko njih i Parlamentu. Osnivanjem FCA stvorena je prilika da se industrija finansijskih usluga reguliše na efikasniji način.

The main role of the Financial Conduct Authority is to make sure that consumers use financial services and products from firms and individuals they can trust and that customers are treated fairly.

The FCA is an independent non-governmental body, given statutory powers by the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 as amended by the Financial Services Act 2012.

FCA is accountable to treasury ministers and, through them to parliament. The creation of the FCA has created an opportunity to regulate the financial services industry more efficiently.
